Charles E. Ruello was born in May of 1951 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Charlie graduated from Jesuit High School and then attended Louisiana State University where he received a Bachelor of Architecture in 1975. During that time, he studied in Copenhagen, Denmark where he completed his thesis studying how climate and culture affect architectural design.
After graduating from LSU, Charlie worked for various architectural firms in the region until May 1991 when Charles E. Ruello, Architect was formed and incorporated. The firm specializes in residential and small commercial architecture. Since Hurricane Katrina in 2005, he has focused his attention on many renovations and new houses in the Lakefront and Lakeview areas. His goal is to help rebuild a better New Orleans. Charlie resides in New Orleans with his wife and daughter.
This web site has two additional sections. The next section, Architectural Projects, consists of residences Charles E. Ruello's office has designed ranging from 1,800 sq. ft. to 18,000 sq. ft. The last section, Historic Building Renderings, is composed of various local and regional landmarks Charlie has rendered in an architectural style. These renderings, printed on an archival mylar, are available for purchase.
